Description
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) found in human plasma, saliva and urine. It is studied extensively in skin-biology, wound-healing and gene-expression research, where it displays remodeling and antioxidant activity.

Research summaries
GHK-Cu and tissue remodeling
Research on the copper tripeptide reports stimulation of collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis in fibroblast cultures, modulation of matrix metalloproteinases, and accelerated wound contraction in animal models. Plasma GHK levels decline substantially with age, motivating its study in skin-aging research.
GHK-Cu is one of the better-characterized cosmetic-adjacent research peptides, with decades of dermatology-oriented literature behind it.
Gene-expression profiling of GHK
Broad transcriptome analyses have reported that GHK exposure shifts expression of a large fraction of profiled genes toward patterns associated with tissue repair and antioxidant defense, suggesting the peptide acts as a broad signalling modulator rather than through a single receptor.
Computational screens suggest that GHK affects multiple repair-related genes rather than a single target; functional confirmation is still needed.
